आफताब हसनैन

Born on 21st September 1951 in Mumbai, India. Did his Secondary School education from Imperial High School, August Kranti Marg, Mumbai and graduation (B.A. with Economics & Political Science as majors) from K,C. College, Churchgate, Mumbai. Renowned Urdu/Hindi playwright and children's author. Many books have been published in both the languages. Author of the highly acclaimed full-length-plays viz;

चल उड़ जा रे पंछी

रौशनी

Allahumma Labaik

Aaram Baugh etc.

'Drama Nagar' in Urdu and 'नाटक नगर' in Hindi are the collections of his one-act-plays. Have written very many stories for children. Acclaimed books are:

So far recipient of 16 prestigious Urdu/Hindi literary awards viz;

महाराष्ट्र राज्य पुरस्कार (youngest award winner, 1974)

साहित्य कला परिषद (New Delhi) award (1991)

मोहन राकेश सम्मान (New Delhi-2003)

बाबा गुनाकर साहित्यिक सम्मान (2003)

महाराष्ट्र राज्य साहित्य Academy's विष्णुदास भावे पुरस्कार (2008).

Maharashtra,Bihar, Uttar Pradesh and west Bengal Urdu Academies Awards and writers and journalist association's 'Sahitya Gaurav Samman' (2010) for meritorious contribution in literature. 'Urdu Times lifetime achievement Award' (2015), 'Rabindranath Tagore Award' (2016), 'Zainabia Award' (2017) and lately 'Vogue Theatre' & Bhartiya Vidhya Bhavan 's 'Lifetime Achievement Award' (2020).

Aftab Hasnain has written TV serials 'Jaanbaaz' and 'Suspense Hour' for Zee TV and dialogues of various episodes of popular serial,'Aahat' for Sony TV. Produced TV serials, 'Hostel' for BI TV and 'Dahshat' for B4U channel!

Have the honour of being appointed Hon. 'Special Executive Officer (SEO) by Govt. of Maharashtra!
