Republic Day Celebrations at the Embassy

The 60th Republic Day celebrations were held at the Embassy of India premises in Berlin. Ambassador Smt. Meera Shankar hoisted the National Flag and after singing of the National Anthem, read out the Presidents's message to a large gathering of Indian nationals, PIOs and German friends of India. This was followed by a cultural program, which included singing of patriotic songs by the Embassz officials and their family members, kathak performance bz the German dancer, Ms Ioanna Srinivasan and a reception for the invitees. The Hindi Film "A Wedndesday" was also screened at the Embassy Auditorium. About 150 persons including the Executive Committee members of leading Indian Associations, academicisans, Indian students and professionls in Berlin and surrounding areas attended the function.
